Study Of Ancient Thinking In The Qing Dynasty Stele Study

Gufa is an important reference to evaluating and analyzing of art works in classic Chinese calligraphy theory. The meaning of Gufa is not quite concrete in ancient times and it had changed greatly especially when the stele theory was popular in Qing dynasty. This paper analyzes the meaning and category of Gufa in the classical calligraphy theory, and it focuses efforts on the explanation of Gufa in calligraphy theory of Qing dynasty. Then this paper analyzes the meaning of Gufa in typical calligraphy theory which covered around two hundred years. It hopes to find a clear transition clue of Gufa theory in the stele theory of Qing dynasty. Finally, this paper tries to inspect the transformation of Gufa and studies its value and significance in further way.
