In the Jiaqing and Daoguang period of the Qing Dynasty,scholars including Qian Yuan first questioned the authenticity of the masterpiece of Lanting.When it came to Xianfeng and Tongzhi period of the Qing Dynasty,scholars like He Shaoji and Bao Shichen proposed several speculations over the masterpiece of Lanting based on Qian Yuan.They attemped to classify Lanting as inscription.At last,during Guangxu period,scholars such as Li Wentian and Kang Youwei criticized Lanting based on the comments of inscription.Such a long lasting process undoubtedly reflects the evolution of the aesthetic concept of the late Qing Dysnasty scholars.So this article,through summarizing the doubts,criticisms and imitations of the masterpiece of Lanting,tries to explore the attitude of the scholars from the late Qing Dynasty to the various versions of Lanting and to clarify the evolution of the aesthetic concept of the scholars in the late Qing Dynasty,which has a great influence on our understanding of the inception and Lanting of the late Qing Dynasty. |
