Before Qing dynasty,Chinese calligraphy has gone through five kinds of style,and been formed during the period of Wei,Jin and Northen and Southern Dynasties.Chinese calligraphy develops from usage extend to an appreciate beauty of art.However,the style of Chinese calligraphy in Qing Dynasty,which is based on the free-writing of Ming era,has changed to learn from the style of ancient Qin and Han times.During the period of Qing Dynasty,the development of style of chinese calligraphy has much relationship with academic atmosphere then.Under the policy of governor,academic circles actively proposes that the pragmatism should be the highest standard of evaluating art value.So,scholars and specialists of metal and stone strongly initiate that writing style should learn from Qin and Han Dynasties'.Following,Pu theory begins to flourish and then exert effect on reflection and reconstruction of the art of Chinese calligraphy.Beside based on the objective Knowledge,scholars also learn from politics,society,history,philosophy and so on.With the findings of literal data on mental and stone,annotation and textual research goes further.Under the interplay of Pu theory and the knowledge of mental,stone and stele,Pu theory has been fully developed and push forward thehistory of calligraphy on mental,stone and stele.Consequently,scholars have adequate cognition for the form and nature of calligraphy.Furthermore,they have been influenced by the Neo-confucianism thought and positivism of Pu,so they make a trend of back-to-ancients in calligraphy...
