This dissertation is a descriptive grammar of nouns in Old Uyghur Hami version Buddhist text Maitrisimit, designed to discuss the linguistic principles on the basis of historical linguistics and comparative linguistics.Maitrisimit is one of the most important manuscripts. Scholars from all over the world have been doing various researches on it, but so far there is no such a research, which is about the systematic grammatical features of Maitrisimit. Its language may differ from any other languages that used in other manuscripts at the same time and as being a literature, its language may differ from oral languages used in the same time. Studying its linguistic features not only has an important meaning in studying Old Uyghur but also is a great help in comparing it with other manuscripts.Suffix is a widely used part in Uyghur grammar. Formatting rules mainly use suffix. External morphology is used in this manuscript, for example: the postpositions are belonged to external morphology, but it's not the mainstream.
