This article mainly studied the relations between Vietnam and US from 1975 to 1995. On January 27, 1973, "about Ended War in Vietnam, Restores Peace Agreement" was signed in Paris, the American influence withdrew one after another from Vietnam, and the war towards Vietnam ended. In May 1975, Vietnam had ended the long-term fission condition and achieved the liberation of the whole, and then it began to emerge as a unified country on the world stage and to have a significant impact. In July, 1995, along with the profound changes in the international and regional situation, the state of long-term confrontation relationship between Vietnam and the United States has realized the historical reconciliation as Bill Clinton formally announced at the White House to established diplomatic relations with Vietnam. From 1975 to 1995, the relations between Vietnamese and US have experienced the complex development and the successional variation process. This article is aiming at clarifying and elaborating the relations of the two sides in this period.According to the various characteristics of different periods and the state of bilateral relations, the Vietnamese relations with the United States from 1975 to 1995 is divided into three phases. The first stage was from May 1975 to November 1986, namely from the unification to Vietnam to the Vietnam implements before the innovation opening. At this time, as just concluded, the people of Vietnam and the United States had not left the shadows of the war behind. At the same time, the cold war continued, the U.S.-Soviet confrontation still existed. The one-sided policy of the Soviet and the invasion of Cambodia did no good in situation relaxing, as a result, the relations between the two countries was in frozen period.The second stage was in December 1986 to December 1991, from the introduction of reform and opening up in Vietnam to the drastic changes in Eastern Europe and the disintegration of the Soviet Union.
