To Accept The Study (1925-2005), Shen Congwen

The research on the novels of Shen Congwen has been very abundant, but the research about the acceptance of Shen Congwen's novels is thin and weak; but the latter is a new window which can help us ascertain the change of national horizon of expectations, and apprehend his novels, which also is an innovation in the literary research. Through close reading Shen Congwen's novels and the acceptance articles, this dissertation summarizes their acceptance before liberation, and find horizon of expectations is close to the creating fortune of Shen Congwen. And tries to discuss the characters, cause and connotation of the changes in the acceptance, from the acceptance of the "Xiangxi World", urban novels after liberation, and the acceptance of KAN HONG LU.The acceptance of Shen Congwen' s novels in the 80 years had too many imputations and glory, which has representativeness and particularity among Chinese modern authors. Because of the mainstream word and atmosphere of the age in the acceptance, the novels created by Shen Congwen possess abundant human nature and quite high aesthetic worthiness, encountered criticism and praise before liberation, and then flew low. At last literary researchers and fans show appreciation for them. In this course, the "Xiangxi World" had more been disputed, whose rays of light was more dazzling; the research about urban novels had evolved swiftly, though it started latterly; KAN HONG LU which is Shen Congwen's evening psychological novels, became excellent because of the liberation of reader's aesthetic concept and advance of reader's aesthetic ability. Author and readers have created the colorful "Xiangxi world", and have the complex of "Arcadia". Shen Congwen's eximious narrative and imaginary ability trained and showed itself in the writing. The potential meanings of Shen Congwen's novels has been exhibited and enriched. Readers apprehended and explained the works and themselves.
