A Study On The Art Of Colours In Shen Congwen's Novels

So-called the text's colours, namely the colour elements' modal performance in the text, is a combination of outer sensory stimulation and the inner emotional projection.Through close reading, combining the theories such as chromatics, psychology, aesthetics of literature and art, is aim to interpret the colours' metaphor of Shen Congwen's novels,and parse the abstraction style of colours, and analyze the origin of the writer's colour view.This article consists of an introduction, four chapters, and a conclusion:The introduction part includes a brief introduction of the relationship between colours and literature, and the relative research conditions. Therefore, it summarizes the dissertations reason and significance of the study.The first chapter summarizes the characteristic of colours in Shen congwen's novels.Starting from the intuitive sense of the overall reading,I make a brief introduction of the situation about hue and colour sense. It contains the hue is plain, neat, concise and simple(which tends to pure rather than miscellaneous), and the colour sense is slightly cold,quietness, clean and spacious.The second chapter parses the colours, metaphor of Shen Congwen's novels.It mainly studies the colours about characters and environment. Among them,the contrast between black and white can reflected the writer's different attitudes for the different life sate; the green, white,red and black in environment description can show a fresh, warm,actual and legendary countryside.The third chapter explores the aesthetic style of freehand brushwork in colours,such as the impressionistic beauty lies in the ornament and flow of colours, the dilute beauty lies in the cold pale and imaginative space, and the beauty of artistic conception is due to the " Chinese ink and light colour" and" ultimate simplicity and chastity ", as a net and simple style.The fourth chapter explores the origin of the writer's colour view, including the projection of natural worship, the choice of temperament, the potential of painting and calligraphy,and the consciousness of literary creation,and so on.The conclusion summarizes the characteristics of this study, sums up the particularity of the colour art in Shen Congwen's novels, then highlight the unique position of Shen Congwen's novels in the history of Chinese Literature.
