| Hero Dolginhay is a well-known epic among Mongols in state Haixi, Khuhnoor and Subei, Gansu province, which has a complete plot about marriage. This epic possesses very simple plot and is short with simple structure, but it contains every essential element of traditional Mongolian epics, like its structure, motif, roles and the linguistic features.This dissertation is composed of four sections following,Section one, is the introductory part of the whole thesis. This section has introduced the present researches on Hero Dolginhay with its relationship with mongol folks and presented the purpose of this study.Section two, studied the seven versions of the Hew Dolginhay and chased to its original composition using the method of motif comparison. And briefly analyzed the contents, roles in it and the names of the heroes in the epic and selected the original composition on the proofs found out through the research. Then analyzed the original work and the version and pointed out the similarities and the differences, thus to prove the transformation rule of epics.Section three, concluded some of the Mongolian customs, folklore and cultural phenomenon out of the epic and their influences to the formation of the epic.Section four, is the summary of the whole dissertation. This section is made up of three parts.Part one, offered the common characteristics of the name Dolginhay and Dolinhay on the basis of the research on both the original type of Hero Dolginhay and the names of the heroes in the epic.Part two, proved that the most original type of Hero Dolginhay is transformed into two version along the spreading history with backup materials.Part three, has studied the phenomenon of mongolian folklore and customs shown in the epic, so as to relate the developing history of the Hero Dolginhay and noted the similar features between this epic and other traditional heroic epics among mongolian civilians. |
