When study the novel "Romance of Three Kingdoms"(RTK), the researchers used to focus more on the two camps of Cao-Wei and Liu-Shu, They have done a lot of in-depth analysis, and published a large number of essays about them. Comparatively, the scholars seemly pay less attention on the performance of Sun-Wu in novel text, and relevant discussions are also much skinnier.Investigates its reason, the neglect by the researchers origin from the novelist's contempt for Sun-Wuregime. In RTK, the writer put focus on the conflicts between Cao and Liu. Sun-Wu regime was marginalized as a supporting role. In this thesis, from the perspective of suppressing Sun-Wu, we discuss various reasons why the role of Sun-Wu was marginalized.Part I; Analysis and point out there is a big mismatch between the descriptions of three States of Cao-Wei, Sun-Wu and Liu-Shu in the RTK and the real history. According to the novel, Cao-Wei and Liu-Shu were comparable rivals while Sun-Wu only an insignificant, marginal force. However, from the events that truly happened in the history, we find that the strategy rival of Cao-Wei was not Shu-Han, but Sun-Wu. The battles between Wei and Wu, Regardless of the scale or the frequency, all surpass those between Wei and Shu. While in RTK, the conflicts between Wu and Wei were faded out, and the clashes between Wei and Shu wereheavily strengthen.Part II; Analyze two cases ,War of Chi-Bi and the battles over the regions of Jing and Yi, combined with the history facts and comparison with relative works, concretely explain which method the author used to distort history, to uglify and dwarfy Sun-Wu regime.Part III; revealed "status-suppression of Sun-Wu" tendency causes in the novel — "Suppress Sun" , derived from the continuous theme "Respect Liu, banish Cao" in the Three States stories. "Respect Liu, banish Cao, suppress Sun" was not initiated by Luo Guanzhong, it stemmed from the history and traditional folk tales, and closely linked to the orthodox thoughts of feudal ruling class — " God granted imperial power " . The national struggle background of "People desire Han" in Yuan dynasty, also deepened this theme. Based on the work of Luo Guanzhong, Mao Zonggang, an editor in Qing dynasty, infiltrated a stronger consideration of suppressing Sun-Wu into his editorial process.
