Study Of The Ming And Qing Shandong Dialect Saying

The common saying is a type of language form that created on the basis of the manifold social practice by the masses of people. In the long history, the common saying is not only widespread in masses, but also frequently applied in the popular and classical literary work After the half of the Ming Dynasty, with the development of commodity economy, the prosperity of city life and the flourishing of popular literary, a vast amount of common sayings evolved, the quantity of XieHouYu, YanYu, and GuanYongYu all increased rapidly, the common saying also widely appeared in the literary work. This article collected the common saying in "Jin Ping Mei" "Awakes World Marriage affinity Biography " and "Chats Room Folk tune Collection " which are popular literary in the vernacular of Shandong dialect between the period of Ming Dynasty and Qing Dynasty. By means of studying these common sayings, we try to sum up the characteristics of these common sayings, to find out social situation of Ming and Qing Dynasty in my humble opinion, and to seek the development of these common sayings in contemporary Chinese. This article includes five parts.Part one. we discussed the quality and range of the common saying. By way of comparing some different definitions, we selected and adopted this one: the common saying is a type of language form, which is spoken language, created and used by the masses of people. The common saying consists of XieHouYu, YanYu, and GuanYongYu.Part two. XieHouYu was divided into two parts: the verse with a hidden tail and the two-part allegorical saying. The latter is main part. We made a detail analysis of the subject and peculiarity of the two-part allegorical saying, including the flexible form, the rhetoric the local color and other means.Part three, we made a detail analysis of the culture represented from YanYu, and also gave a minute description of the peculiarity of YanYu, including the flexible form, the rhetoric and the local color.Part four, we made a general investigation of the origination and the peculiarity of GuanYongYu, including the lively description, derogatory sense, the flexible form, the rhetoric, interesting number, and the local color.Finally, we made a summary of the whole article.
