The analysis of the trend of the local color poem writing, and the generalization of the characteristics of the various developmental stages will greatly help to appreciate the artistic beauty of the local color poems of the 1990s.The dissertation consists of three chapters:Chapter One: The historical origin of the Chinese local color poems.The long-established origin of the local color poem of the 1990s should be analyzed in both cultural and aesthetic dimensions. Through retrospection, the author explores the local color poem works and reveals the local color poem traits underlying the Chinese local color poem tradition. At the same time, the author also formulates the terms of "local color literature", "local color poem", and the "neo-local color poetry" which occurred in the modern literary history.Chapter Two: The developmental tendency of the local color poems of the 1990s.The author examines and distinguishes the local color poems carried in the three poetry magazines which are most well-known in our country. Through induction and analysis, he divides these local color poems of the 1990s into three stages: early period (1990-1992), middle period (1993-1995), and late period (1996-2000). By depicting the developmental process and tendencies, the author comes to some generalities. The feature of early period is nostalgia, the feature of middle period is display of serene landscape andimplicit artistic techniques, the feature of late period is to satirize the ills of the times and to reveal the local color poem fury.Chapter Three: The humanity underlying the local color poems of the 1990s.Humanity is characteristic of the Chinese local color poems of the 1990s, which shed devotion and concerns to the vulnerable group. Among the local color poetry, the poems depicting the kinship and native customs pour out in large quantity. Lots of poets' style shifts in the 1990s from individual concerns in the early 90s to such common concern as melancholy, metaphysical thinking and ontological pursuit in the late 90s. We can perceive the primary change in the poems of the 1990's by comparison of Chinese and the western culture.Though localism, One of the important dimensions, can not be included completely in the humanity category, some of the poems also demonstrates the human concern of the poets. In this chapter, the author sorts out some local color poems of the poets from Shanxi region, Bashu region, Zhejiang region, Yunnan region, and Western Hubei region.The author expounds these poems and their artistic techniques in a bid to display poetic talent of the poets.In the final analysis, the author concludes that the local color poems reached the apex by leading the fashion which should not have been. Either compared with the local color poems in the early vernacular poems, or with the local color poems of the 1980s, these local color poems of the 1990s have achieved unexpected progress. In this perspective, the poetry of the 1990s does not regress, but in a sense it has become much more mature and gained momentum of escalation. |
