The "midnight" In The Spatial Image Analysis

In the end of 1980s', one of the most important events in knowledge and policy development is the appearance of "the space changes" in the humanities and society studies. The discussion on "Space" has been focus on different studies. Many researchers propose the outstanding and various viewpoints.In the Texts/Contexts of Other Space, Foucault points out that before the 19 century, western ideology history always tangle with the topic of time and people mostly like history, which concerned on development, crisis, cycle, foretime, human death, although space times would be coming in the 20 century. In the masterpiece The Production of Space written by Lefebvre, the nature of space has been completely discussed. Lefebvre points out that space is not only the static "container" or "platform", but also the human is the spatial existent people who is busy on production of space, area, environment. Space, as social historical product, has been endow with meaning ness of economy, society and culture, rather than simply equal to geometry. Because of human attendance, the space has been significant and existent.Midnight, comes from Mao Dun, who is one of the representative writers in society analysis. This masterpiece is also the great achievement in realism on that time. Mention of the motivation of Midnight, Mao Dunindicates that he was thinking about the real nature of China. Afteranalysis of Chinese Journal Full Text Database (1994--2005 )Retrieval Information, the author found that, so far, various studies on Midnight mostly focus on flgural image, article structure and language form rather than space questions in Midnight.Base on the above background and analysis, this paper selects the residence, bourse, countryside, and factory as main analysis objects which the author wants to indicate Space ideological form in Midnight by using Modernity, Narrates study and Revolutionary theory. Meanwhile, related with the Mao Dun views which concern on nature of China on that time, the Author wants to put this research to higher level from a new angle.During the research process, we can easily find that because Objective accommodation of Space ideological form from Mao Dun, the "formal space" indicate various objects. By using spatial figure, it represents much economical and cultural information, as well as the implication of Chinese society on that time. We can use this way to explore the deeper meaning ness of the articles and re-explain the relation between human and space, as well as social nature, from different angles.
