S Ancient Chinese Music Historian Studies

Wang Guo-wei who served as a link between past and future is one of the most important scholars in Chinese modern academy history. During his short life, he left us a great deal of classical academic works based on carrying forward the good tradition of Qian Jia scholars. Meanwhile, he absorbed the idea of western culture and used new methods positively in his literary research work, which owned him great achievements by exploring new academic area. Since some of Wang's institute related to Chinese ancient history of music, this paper will demonstrate what he has done in this field, and discuss the situation of Wang's institute in musical academy history. Finally, the author will illustrate the value of Wang's work for contemporary music history academy through analyzing his characteristic of research.Chapter one: Focusing on the performance element that dominated Wang Guo-wei's idea of Chinese traditional opera. This chapter will discuss the detailed character of Wang's research in this area.Chapter two: Wang Guo-wei yearned for Zhou Dynasty greatly because Chinese people had developed a splendid culture at that time. In Wang's opinion, social system and other inventions of Zhou Dynasty were built up to maintain human being's virtue.which is the fundamental of forming such a culture. The author will focus on the Wang's opinion and illustrate how did Wang doing his research work instructed by such an idea.Chapter three: The words on ancient bronzed instruments record a great deal of information about Chinese ancient history. Thus, these words were made good use of modern Chinese scholar. Wang's many talent academy creations was on the ground of interpretation of these records. This chapter introduced Wang's achievements and the character of his research in this field.Conclusion: the author concentrates what is the meaning of Wang's musical academy for us all along. Since modem academy becoming more and more symbolized, scholars gradually split from their academy and believe. In Wang's practice, believe and academy are the two sides of a coin, they can't apart from each other. In the conclusion, the author will describe Wang's idea and discuss the reference of Wang's academy to the modern music research.
