Sushi is an important writer in the history of literature. He created more than 2,700 poems during his life. The number of responding poems between Sushi and the Buddhist Monks is 173. These poems rich in content and reach highly artistic achievements and they are of great research value. This paper proposed these following research areas:Chapter I is about friendship. Firstly, the complex reasons for Sushi's closing to Buddhism is analyzed, which include three main factors: social background, the family atmosphere and personal experience. Then, sort out the process of communication between them. Form youth to death, Sushi communicated with 136 monks whose name can be given.Chapter II studies the content. Among Sushi's monk friends, Daoqian is the most profound intimacy. Their responding poems are divided into three categories: friendship, tour and poetics view. According to the principle that knowing a man must understand his experience, their communication course is alternated with the analysis of the poems, so that the background and content of the poems can be comprehended better. Besides, the responding poems between Sushi and other monks are discussed in accordance with the friendship's depth. They are also divided into three: friendship, tour and other poems.Chapter III is about the artistic qualities. Sushi's poems are in a principle position. I only analyze the most obvious and valuable features of the art. First, the wealth of Zen philosophy which reflected in three aspects: the broad-minded view of life, nothingness concept and the interest of being a hermit. Second, analogy (concrete and abstract )and allusion(Buddhist).Third, the humor and witty language.Finally, explain concisely the important signification of the mutual communication between Sushi and the monks of the Chan sect.
