Craft art is an important component of the traditional arts of Mongolian people, and it used to heavily influence the lives of Mongolians. However, in the last century, as time changed, this type of art and its inheritance pattern has gradually faded out of the society and out of the attention. The revival of the Bao Shi-zhu master and apprenticeship in the new era could be attributed to a specific historical opportunity, and they have been able to maintain with relative integrity the continuity of the craft art heritage.Based on field survey and conversations with the craft masters, this study has analyzed the craft works, techniques and heritage inheritance pattern of the Bao Shi-zhu craft master and apprentices. In addition, from the natural, economic and cultural background of the Kerqin region, the study further analyzed, with related theories, the master-apprentice relationship and the producer-consumer relationship and the social-economic status of the crafts people, and summarized the characteristics of inheritance process, functions and utilization of the craft works. With these analyses, this study strives to reveal from one small aspect the economic mode and unique culture form of Kerqin Mongolian people during the transformation period, to explore the causes of such culture phenomenon, and subsequently propose the revelation and reference functions of craft art inheritance study to current fine arts education.
