Tongzi play originated from ancient wizard prayer ceremony. Later it gradually turned out to be one of music forms,with its special characteristic . Nowdays it is called "Tong play"and mainly popular in Nantong city and nearby area ,such as Rugao County ,Rudong County ,etc,in Jiangsu Province,China.Tongzi play , as a kind of native folk music ,has it' s unique development history,and it is of unusual style and art ralues. It covers a certain space in folk art history in Nantong as far as in Jiangsu Province. Its art ralues can not be ignored.This thesis basing on wiziter's investigation into the real concerned sites and the reseach ley exscholars ,tzies to make a systimatic analysis of wizard prayer ceremony music form ,style and features,and its unique rank in Chinese theatre music history ,mankes a deep study of above-mentioned items by using national musicalogy, musical history ,religion,culture and other suetific methords. The whole article consists of Introductory and four chapters. In introductory,it mainly discusses the present study of Tongzi play and indicates the chief study target of this paper.Chapter One:On Tongzi play development history and the culture background .Aiming at tracing Tongzi play reformation history and the regularity,Analizng its development and its culture elements which makes up the Tongzi play.Chapter Two :The procedure of Tongzi ceremony executive person and theatre music, Take real procedure as an example to analize Tongzi play and look into the theatre music elements included in the performance ,to analize the relationship between the religious rites and the theratre music ,to investigate the course and the step of how the theatre music get rid of the religious ceremony and become an art form .Chpter Three:The basic elements and features of Tongzi play .Based on data from personal field investigation ,the writer tries ,frommusic angle to make a deep analysis of every elements in the play ,ties to display the whole characteristic and get a clear knowledge of each features.Chapter Four:Aesthetics Feature of the theatre music shown in Tongzi play .Making a thorough study of aesthetics form,style features in Tongzi play and give a detail descriotion of them.
