Over the past century,Henrik Ibsen's name has been mentioned constantly in the field of drama and theatre.His writing skills,dramatical structure,and sapiential ideas have also been continuously researched,deconstructed and interpreted in all kinds of forms.Especially on the modern and contemporary theatre stage,Ibsen as a man who was born in Norway and his fame has been spread all over the world until now.It is important and worthwhile to explore how Norwegian theatre workers in nowadays contemplate and adapt Ibsen's work.Meanwhile,Ibsen had affected quite a lot of Chinese theatre practitioners and theorists.Since “the May 4th Movement”,Ibsen's work and spirit has been pioneering and leading the development of China's realism drama,and it also presents many forms of Ibsen's recreations and adaptions on Chinese contemporary theatre stage.Henrik Ibsen was born in a small village at the edge of a Norwegian fjord and became a global citizen of the world,his work and thoughts has stepped over the barriers of geography,culture and ages,and while associated the communication of global culture,artistic communication and resonance.Thus,Ibsen's plays do not just productions on stages,it is the world's cultural resources.In this paper,the author will comprehensively combine her theoretical research and practical experience both in China and Norway to discuss and analyze how Chinese and Norwegian theatre practitioners contribute to the development of Ibsen's plays at the beginning of the 21 st century,and compare the differences from their various interpretations of Ibsen's plays.Besides that,the author will also analyze the contemporary meaning and educational value of Ibsen's plays in our age.
