| Temporary measure word derived from nouns,verbs,and adjectives is an importantcategory in system of measure words in modern Chinese. This article deals with it in theframe of cognitive linguistics.According to the semantic relation between the temporary measure word and nouns,the article delimits temporary measure words into five sub-categories, then the articledepicts and analyses their grammar characteristics: one: different situation of combiningwith numeral; two: the concealed or present of "de" between the temporary measureword and noun; three: the conditions of inserting the adjective before the temporarymeasure word. All these usages are given the cognitive interpretation.Considering the emergence of the temporary measure word depends on the literal,cognitive and cultural context, the article believes that the relation between thecontext and temporary measure word is restriction and anti- restriction. |
