With the worldwide establishment of the value of multicultural music education, world music has been paid to more and more attention as an important course brought up with the multicultural music education. Among the various world music, many people for its rich Southeast Asia style and unique national features have already known Thai music. However, our understanding for Thai music culture is limited for such reasons as cultural background and research methods, etc. In the teaching field of world music culture, there is still a blank for the research content and achievements of Thai traditional music culture education in China, which needs further research and discussion. The author uses the cultural pattern for music recognition proposed by Titon and Silubin and such ideas as ethnomusicology, cultural anthropology, post-modernist pedagogy, pedagogy of musical phenomenology, hermeneutics as the theoretical basis. The author not only lists the music research of Thailand as the key part of the subject, but focuses on the important idea of "using the Thai music as culture", emphasizing on the discussion of the problem on the teaching mode of how to teach Thai traditional music culture in China's music classes, and relevant teaching design is made. The author hopes that the content, materials and teaching methods for Thai music culture teaching will be enriched with intuitionistic and perceptual method by the research on Thai traditional music culture teaching and the creation of relevant teaching design, providing a wider research view for the teaching of Thai music culture in China and thus reflecting humanities teaching mode featured by description, explanation and self-reflection. Meanwhile, the author also expects that the wonderful miniature of Southeast Asia will have an indispensable impact on the extensive and profound world music.
