Wolf Art Style Of The Song Characteristics And Singing Study

Hugo Wolf(1860-1903) is an famous composer in German between the end of 19 century and the beginning of 20 century. He started the history of the modern art songs and is the representative person of the German composers of the art songs . In his creations of art song, he integrated the modernism, classicalism and romanticism together perfectly, and gave the infection and life force to art songs. Wolf had not been influenced in styles of art songs by other great composers created, meanwhile persevered in own creations style always, he contributed the impetus to the development of German art songs.This paper introduced the research actuality of Wolf's art songs, discussed the development of German art songs, all Wolf's life and his inditement course. We analyzed the manner characteristic of Wolf's art songs detailedly from external lyricism, the perfectly integrating between music and poem and so on. He made bold innovations towards art songs, especially invented art songs in the form of"music- poem". He also made progress in such methods and inclinations as"objectively expressing emotions", and pushed romantic music toward rational direction. All of above made Germany artistic songs further developed. In addition, this paper analyzed the singing characteristic of his three art songs Wanderers Nachtlied, Das verlassene M?gdlein and Mignon.Basically, we have an overall understanding of the manner characteristic and singing styles on Wolf's art songs through this paper. It is my wish that my study will be of practical meaning to Wolf's vocal pieces and hopefully, my study will be help those who sing Wolf's artistic songs.
