The Grove-Dictionary of Music and Musicians has been recognized as first-rate musical encyclopaedia of the world. Seven editions of the dictionary has already published so far. The author has translated, analyzed and commented all the Chinese musician entries, that would help us to learn the Chinese musician's researches of the international musical circle and help to contribute to the academic interchanges between China and other countries.
