The intermedium of The cultural exchange between the Ming dynasty and the Qing dynasty was the western missionary . These missionaries who came to china were Jesuitic . The Jesuitic represents the old guard who opposed the reformation in Europe. These missionaries' motive of coming to china was to spread the Catholicism, but the Chinese traditional idea was very strong , which made the missionaries had to take "the accommodation policy", that is they must spread western technology to be the steppingstone. Up to now , historians' studies concerning the missionaries who came to china at the Ming and the Qing dynasty focus on the cultural exchange . The studies about the emperor of Yongzheng is lack. This article's object matter is about the Catholicism policy of the Yongzheng emperor. I investigate thought, policy, characteristic and result of the emperor of Yongzheng's Catholicism-forbidden. Not only explore the reasons and causes of the emperor of Yongzheng's Catholicism-forbidden policy, but also analyse the characteristic and result of the emperor of Yongzheng's Catholicism-forbidden policy.The article stresses on the emperor of Yongzheng's Catholicism-forbidden policy. It investigates the Catholicism-forbidden policy from four chapter, that is the historical background, the measures, the characteristics and the results.The first chapter is the historical background of the Catholicism-forbidden policy. I emphases the influence of the Chinese Rites Controversy, which made the emperor of Kangxi change his attitude toward the catholic. So the policy about the catholic was changed from the tolerant one to the hard one. So the emperor of Yongzheng's Catholicism-forbidden policy is a continuation of the emperor of Kangxi's one.The second chapter of the article is the measures of the Catholicism-forbidden policy, including the emperor of Yongzheng's Catholic knowledge, the reasons of the policy and the concrete measures.The third chapter of the article analysis the characteristics of the Catholicism-forbidden policy , systematic, severe, strict and lenient.The last chapter of the article is the results of the Catholicism-forbidden policy.
