| Yang Yi, a culture official in the early part of the Northern Song Dynasty, is a representative author of Xikun style, who was born in Xian Zhai, Yushan county, Xin State. At the age of seven, he had been good at composing, was well-known by Zhao Guangyi, the Emperor Song Taizong when he was eleven, and secured an official position by passing Taizong's personal examination. Since then Yang Yi often got promotions because of his remarkable feats on classical Chinese poems. Because of feeling jealous of Yang Yi success, Wang Qinruo, Chen Pengnian did every effective hatchet job on Yang Yi's achievements, and his being righteousness in the court always rendered him disobedient to the emperor. As a result, the emperor and the ministers made things difficult for him in succession, and he had a hard time in his official career. In his old age, the anxiety and fear to sarcasms made him immerse himself in Buddhism. In the fourth year of Tianxi(1020), for getting a secret order from the prime minister, Kou Zhun, he wrote a memorial to the throne to ask the prince to supervise the empire. He was declared to be guilty after the secret was leaked out, and died for apprehension at last. As the nucleus author of Xikun style, people have widespread comments on him, and haven't got an agreement on the appraise. In his numerous acquaintances, the thesis has chosen five of Wang Yuchen, Kou Zhun, Wang Dan, Ding Wei, Wang Qinruo to execute investigation. Through the analysis of association of theirs, we are trying to show his lifetime and official career, principles of action, choices of politics, personalities and dignities, the breadth of mind and imposing attitude, etc. more comprehensively and multiaspectedly, and attempt to restore to its original state, in order to give objective, righteous, reasonable comments. |
