Mu Zong San is one of the most important philosophers in modern China."Comprehensive-Teaching" came from Buddhism, is the teaching without "systemof teaching", which is the highest level in judging teaching in Buddhism. It means that:under the condition of "Comprehensive-Teaching", every convenient knowing andpracticing perfection will get their ultimate value. Mu Zong San borrowed the conceptfrom Buddhism for making his "Moral Metaphysics" to be a"Comprehensive-Teaching" of Confucianism."Comprehensive-Teaching" correlates with "Judgment of Teaching". Only with"Judgment of Teaching" can bear out the excellence of "Comprehensive-Teaching".And "Judgment of Teaching" also needs the diplomatic spirit of"Comprehensive-Teaching" to develop the real implication of"Judgment of Teaching".Mu Zong San made the theories of Confucianism, Buddhism and Daoism togetherwith dimension of "Comprehensive-Teaching", to such an extent as to communicatephilosophy of Kant and western philosophy. But he found the proper places for thoughtsof every philosopher and religion with the way of "Judgment of Teaching". In histhought, the brilliant point, which is also an attempt to communicate eastern culture andwestern culture, should be a new precedent of cultures compared study.Then, let us begin with his study on Buddhism, to "Moral Metaphysics", tocommunication of philosophy, for rethinking the value and limitation of the model.
