WangGuowei is one of the representative personages in the turnprocess of the evolution which was from the old culture to the new culture in Chinese modern times. He not only promoted to study the western culture with great effort, but also tried hard to fuse the Chinese culture and the western culture together. WangGuowei was the first scholar who proposed the concept of"tragedy"in china, and his tragedy views were the achievement of the fusion of the Chinese culture and the western culture. This article attempts to elaborate how the fusion of the Chinese traditional culture and the western culture to influence WangGuowei's views, and the elaboration is on the basis of the formation, the content and the research method of WangGuowei's views.There are three parts in this thesis:The first part: this part mainly analyses how the fusion of the Chinese traditional culture and the western culture to influence the formation of WangGuowei's tragedy views. It includes three aspects, the age background, the academic thought , and Wang Guowei's disposition.The second part: this part mainly discusses the influence of the fusion of the Chinese traditional culture and the western culture upon the content of WangGuowei's tragedy views. This part includes three aspect too, there are WangGuowei's definition about the essence of tragedy, his viewpoint about the root of pain, and the way of extricates.The third part: this part mainly discusses the influence of the fusion of the Chinese traditional culture and the western culture on the research method of WangGuowei's tragic views. This part is on the basis of method of thought,and the"input of new words". The"input of new words"includes three aspects,there are"the third tragedy","humour"and"sublime".
