Macao's Cultural Role

The main idea of this thesis elaborated that Macau takes a cultural role as the connection bridge between Chinese and Western culture, especially its history, present situation and the trend of development. I tried hard to use the theory and the method of the cultural anthropology to make the explanation: such as regarding Macau culture takes the Chinese tradition as the main body, mixing with Western culture as well as analyzing the forming process and reasons of the multicultural characteristic. To predict its trend of development is based on the aspects above. The whole thesis is divided into five chapters. The first chapter is about the reviews and personal opinions on Chinese and the Western cultural research. The second chapter is narrated Macau's historical circumstances. The third chapter is narrated the origins of the native religion in Macau and other religions. The fourth chapter is narrated the history and present situation of Chinese and Western culture in Macau, and explore the mutual exchange of its multi-culture and the prosperous reason. The fifth chapter is written the significance of Macau multicultural exchange and the trend of its development. My knowledge is so limited that I may have shortcomings in my thesis. So I deeply hope all teachers and schoolmates criticize and point out the mistakes what I have made.
