Zhang Lvxiang was a philosopher living in the revolution time during the Ming and Qing dynasty. After the establishment of Qing Dynasty, he chose a life with farming and academic research. His philosophy has two different sides from one resource after the social revolution: based on the negative tendency of the Confucian's development in the sunset of Ming, he preferred Zhuxi's theory to Wang Yangming's, on the other hand went to a new philosophy about practice. It could conclude reasons about his life and academic research experience, this article attempts to demonstrate the affection of time background, social ideological trend, internal factor of philosophy and individual character which causing the contradictory trends of his philosophy Ming' s-Qing's idealist philosophy and idealist-practice.Meanwhile, Zhang Lvxiang participated in social live as a citizen of the last dynasty, and educated people from the patriarchal clan system. He represented a category of the Han intellectuals sticked to their desirable to become a saint while a statesman to accomplish their political ambitions. However, his philosophy based on Confucian's theory, which confined their achievements in philosophy, lively literature.
