Wu-chi Huzhou Official Literary Activity During The Test Theory

Wu Qi is a very active poet in early Qing Dynasty. He loved to make friends and held many get-togethers with other literati. Despite of his special creationary and theoretical achievements in poem, antithetical style and drama, he had been neglected by academicians for a long time. For this reason, the thesis first probed some puzzles in his life, then outlines his whole life with the compilation of the almanac, and made some simple study on his works. The thesis mainly inspected the activities of Wu Qi when he was governing Huzhou from the fifth to the seventh year of Emperor Kangxi. He initiated and invited many notables, such as Yu Huai, WuWeiye, Xu Qianxue, Song Wan, Shi Runzhang and so alike, to Huzhou to communicate, to exchange their poems works with local literati. With regard of the time background, the paper researched and analyzed all the activities of Wu Qi on literature in those three years. The studies have exposed that literary activities had made profound contribution to Wu Qi himself and to the creation and prosperity of literature of early Qing Dynasty.
