As a writer with strong social responsibility and literal mission, Huang Chunming has worked on depicting the countryside in the view of humanistie concern in the setting of Taiwan's transitional society since he began to write in 1950s. His novels, setted in his hometown YiLan, are filled with the unique worrying mentality of the intelligence and compassionate feelings of the humanist. In his novels, we can see the vicissitude of Taiwan's rural area since 60s or 70s, and feel his deeply nostalgia complex and worrying mentality. On the perspectives of these nostalgia complex and worrying mentality, I would make a deeply study on Huang Chunming's novels. There are 4 chapters. The first chapter :Huang Chunming's psychological resources in writing. Probing into environments and backgrounds which are closely linked with him. And beginning with Yilan's surroundings, his living experiences which cultivated his writings, I will analyze the countryside experience, absence experience and loneliness-experience etc. which lay great foundation for his writings. The second chapter: nostalgia and worriment. On the point of the rural worriment, I analyze his writing techniques to describe the poetry copies and its homesickness types to invoke. These indicate Huang's favor and reasonable concern of YiLan's folk culture. The third chapter: The destiny elegy and life disaster. Living is suffering, in this view I analyze some nobodies' living conditions, environments and struggles, from which show Huang's humanistic concern and the life disaster consciousness. The fouth chapter: worriment of the nation. Referring to Human's shiftness to colonial economic novels, I analyze his workes on the context of new-colonial Taiwan in 1970s. Through analysis we can see that Huang criticizes the colonization of America and Japan, at the same time, condemn the popular ideas and behaviours of blindly admiring foreign countries. These show Huang's anxiety about his rural -degenerate area and uneasiness about the national culture facing to threats.
