Unearthed at the west side of the Emperor QinShiHuang's Mausoleum in 1980, the two sets of painted bronze chariots and horses are famous for their exquisite manufacturing techniques, gorgeous decoration, and the fine colored painting art, and the characteristics of their fine colored painting has attracted the attention of many researchers who specialized in the art of Qin Dynasty and related fields. This paper aims to analyze the color of painting and the decorative art of the two sets of bronze chariots and horses; to prove the achievements of fine arts in Qin Dynasty which lies in the aesthetic perception, aesthetic forms, and the technological level. The research into the molding and decorative style of the arts in Qin Dynasty helps us to clarify the perception character and artistic sense of Chinese Art which have not been discovered, as well as the transmission relationship between the different art forms from Pre-Qin to Han Dynasty, and furthermore clarify the related cultural and art threads clearly. The close relationship between the manufacturing techniques and the decorative art of the ancient Chinese bronzes reflects the traditional connections of the art and technology in Chinese fine arts.
