A Study Of The Horses And Chariots As Seen In The Western Zhou Dynasty Bronze

Consistent with the handed-down literature,the Western Zhou Dynasty bronze inscription also has many records about horses and chariots.Interpretation and understanding of these chariots and horses, can help us understand the ancient social system, economy, life and so on. Therefore, this paper intends to combine ancient Chinese characters,handed-down documents, the unearthed literature and other data,on the inscriptions of the Western Zhou Dynasty bronze in the chariots and horses classification are discussed.The main contents are:First of all, compiled all kinds of chariots and horses in the Western Zhou Dynasty bronze inscription picture font data.Secondly, each category including previous academic research results.Then put forward own views.We try to put the Western Zhou Dynasty bronze inscription and the Bamboo Slips of Chu similar font for comparative study.Third, Recorded in the Western Zhou Dynasty bronze inscription of the chariot and horses and unearthed objects matched, we try to coupled with the physical map, so we can more clearly understanding the object shape, position and so on. Fourth, comprehensive full text analysis, summed up the system of the western zhou dynasty chariots and horses; and that in pre Qin times in China the chariot system has tended to be in a mature, and since the Shang Dynasty, the Western Zhou Dynasty, the Eastern Zhou Dynasty to the Spring and Autumn and the Warring States period are in succession in the continuous development,until some technology to modern still use.
