Philip Larkin is one of the most important poets in England in the second half of the 1900s. The Movement which was represented by Larkin had ended the rule of the Modernism in England. It is a landmark to the development of the English poetry. So this thesis will try to analyze the post-modernism of Larkin in three aspects: language, theme and aesthetic consciousness. As for the language, the indistinct and obscure style of the Modernism had been given up by Larkin. In order to be more related with the real life and easy to be understood, the language in Larkin's poem looks more prosaic. Even Larkin has used some slang in the poem. When it comes to the theme, Larkin pays attention to the real world and write about the ordinary things, but not to concern with the moral world. Then for the aesthetic consciousness, in Larkin's opinion, poems should be written in a"neutral tune", so as to say value of commonplace.
