The thoughts of Oil painting "nationalization" originated in the 1920s and 1930s and the formulation of the concept of Oil painting "nationalization" had been evolved since then. Although the concepts of painting "nationalization" had the literal differences in formulation, which reflected the concepts of Oil painting "nationalization" were unclear and of indeterminacy, they still had the consistent cultural meanings and cultural logic. Since the artists had differences in the attitudes to adopt the "sino-western syncretism" and in the cultural practices, which made the thoughts of painting "nationalization" had a broad and open system. A situation of diversified research and extraordinary splendors in researching the expression ways and styles of Oil painting "nationalization" occurred, which was the essential characteristic of the thoughts of Oil painting "nationalization" in early 20th century. Furthermore, because of the indeterminacy in concept and abundance in connotation of the Oil painting "nationalization", it has been doomed to be the hot topic through the 20th century and even until today.
