Context plays an essential role in language understanding and using. Also context is fundamental and important in second language acquisition.This thesis first definites the conception and function of context. This thesis analyses the four essential factors:context,situation context,cultural context and cognitive context.This thesis analyses the different function for language understanding and using of these four essential factors.Context is very important in second language acquisition.this thesis analyses the effect of context in chinese language acquisition.Then this thesis provides some advice for using context to teach chinese language.
