The Qingshang Music in Liuchao Dynasty inherited the music in Han and Wei Dynasties, and mixed with the folk music in the south of China, which was the boom of Qingshang Music. This article traces this development in the general social background. On one hand, the Qingshang Music in Liuchao Dynasty inherited the music in Han and Wei Dynasties, with the forced migration of the royal family of Jin Dynasty and its people from the north to the south; on the other hand, it was brought back to the north again by some treacherous royal members and chaos caused by war. That is , it was based on the music of the Han nationality, and mixed with the folk dancing music and local minorities' music in the South of China, and at last, flavored with some elements of the folk music of the north. Thanks to the participation and adaptation of both literators and nobles, this kind of music turned from being folk to being noble and therefore was partly recorded in the official chronicle of music. The structure of Qingshang Music developed at all times. It finally tended towards steady.
