Organic Modeling Concept And Creative Practice

Through studying the conceptions and images related to organism in art history, I found that the organic quality of the art work was achieved by two ways. One is the way of imitating the organs of living beings and the stuctures of anatomy, and the other is the way of creating images of living being with inregular shapes which can't be seen in real world. So I distinguished the differences between organic-shape-abstract-art and the organism-plastic-art which creatived by Arp. After analyzing the works and the theory of Arp, I put forward a new conception "Concept of Organism Plastic Art" which was differed from the plastic art of realism and abstract. The central character of organism-plastic-art is the creative quality, and the other important character is the feeling of "body", not "image". The meaning of "body" means that organism itself is a world.The painting works of Miro inherited some character of Arp's concept, but can not represent the "body" of organism in his painting. Transforming the sculpture plastic art of Arp to painting was very hard but not impossible. So, in the end of my essay, I introduced the experiences about my painting practice.
