The research paper is based on Heishan county that is located in Jinzhou, Liaoning Province. The paper analyses the predicaments between the heritages and traditions generated out of the evolvement of Errenzhuan, which takes the Heishan county senior Errenzhuan craftsmen's art career and the current situation of Errenzhuan transmission as the evidence. Moreover, the paper applies one small Heishan local opera troupe as the case study that discusses on the problems encountered within the survival and development of the evolvement of Errenzhuan.Heishan county is the cradle of Errenzhuan, which has more than two hundred years of history. With the dramatic development of the industrial localism and the constant change of social, political, economic and ideological situation, the folk genre of the urban Errenzhuan has been endowed with the golden opportunity for survival. However, this kind of traditional art in Heishan is facing decline due to many factors, along with the predicaments and problems affecting the survival and development of the rural Errenzhuan. How to preserve and transmit this folk genre has proposed a tough topic to non-material cultural heritage protection.The research paper uses the field study as the primary research method focusing on the detailed analysis of the first-handed materials that gained from the field study, which will help us obtain the proper understanding of the evolvement of Errenzhuan. As a precious non-material cultural heritage, the survival and development of Errenzhuan will be crucially influenced by government support, craftsman transmission and audience recognition.
