Shchedrin Rodion Konstantinovich --- He was the most prestigious composer, the people's artist and social musician in contemporary era of Russia. As a productive composer, his works involve in various types and themes. Meanwhile, as a pianist, he created lots of popular piano pieces. He finished Polyphonic Book in 1972, made up of 25 different polyphonic preludes, was awarded as"The Encyclopedia of Polyphonic Music".In the thesis, through the analysis of Shchedrin's Polyphonic Book, the author approached its unique artistic thinking and pattern, and analysis the artistic thinking, blending of traditional, modern and nation in the works, from three aspects: type, counterpoint technique and musical style, hoping that it would be useful in creating and teaching Polyphonic Music.
