Western modern polyphonic techniques is to point to which different from the traditional single tonal music polyphonic writing techniques in the20th century, along with the traditional tonal thinking gradually towards dam break, composers in pitch, meter, rhythm, texture, mode, tonality, tone, sound and music material break the bondage of the traditional concept of tonality organization form, in order to pursue a variety of strange sound, colour, so they make music development technique and the method has the characteristics of diversification, the period of "schools of thought contend" music, Debussy’s impressionism, Schoenberg’s expressionism, Snyder miller’s neoclassical, Bartok’s nationalists in music, Stockhausen’s electronic music, Lutoslwski’s limited incidental music, etc., but on the whole, the creation of modern polyphonic music in parts combined with the overall characteristic is to emphasize the voices of melody line horizontal development thinking, the style of music shows the characteristics of color strange, complicated modernity, the composers is born to meet a variety of different aesthetic.Need to mention here and the review of the traditional single tonality music, it refers to the tonal music works is based on a tonal range, vertical thinking is based on harmony as the carrier, the interval between the union for the creation of the main principles, in single tonal multi-tone music, music is to consider the development of concord between parts, at the same time also want to consider the melody of music, namely the longitudinal alignment should be built on to traditional harmony thinking and lateral aspects of melody, both, and music are unified in a tonal (although it will appear in the process of the transfer out of adjustment, and the phenomenon). And modern polyphonic music, otherwise, the vertical combination is not in its union for the creation principle, produce a large number of dissonant sound between parts, forming a complex relationship, it might be a dual tone in mode tonality or polytonality, even atonal music characteristic, its sound color is rich and complex.About China’s research on western modern polyphonic techniques for nearly40years, during this time, the related research has made abundant achievements, such as our country’s polyphony master professor Chen Mingzhi, professor Linhua. Yu Su Xian professor in Central Conservatory of Music, professor Liu Yongping in wuhan Conservatory of music, etc., they are outstanding for the development of polyphonic music of our country, the theories of western modern polyphonic techniques research summary has deeply influenced the creation of the later composers in our country, this paper will stand on the basis of the research achievements of predecessors, with western modern polyphonic techniques as the research object, by using literature research, induction, the empirical study of the three research methods, absorption in the related basic theory in our country the quintessence of many research results, according to the category of the western modern polyphonic techniques to comb, classification, induction, summary, and combined with case analysis, part of our country contemporary composers works to make it with related polyphonic techniques corresponding to the concept, characteristics, in order to from a more comprehensive way to present and interpret the impact of western modern polyphonic composition techniques in our country and the development, implementation theory research and practice of counterpoint.In collecting, sorting, classification, the process of reading literature, on the research achievements of western modern polyphonic technique skill category, this paper classifies the content about the following:bitonality and polytonality contrapuntal structure, whole-tone scale contrapuntal structure, sequence and the sequence of atonality contrapuntal structure, twelve-tone contrapuntal structure, the structure of the linear contrapuntal structure, beat and rhythm contrapuntal structure, heterophony structure, micro polyphonic structure, macro polyphonic structure, false polyphonic structure, monophonic polyphony, complex style counterpoint, timbre, audio counterpoint, aleatory counterpoint structure and so on research techniques,. Due to time and, of course, my knowledge is limited, there could be more techniques need to be added, and with the development of music history, also inevitable more creation techniques, it is the necessity of history. One thing to note, another innovation of this paper is to "fake polyphony" and "or, polyphony" as a kind of polyphonic technique, because it is the same essential connotation between them, will be discussed in more detail in chapter5. Macroscopic structure of the article is divided into three parts, which is composed of introduction, text and epilogue. The introduction tells the story of two aspects, one is paper conception and the selected topic reason; The second is the necessity of research and the practical significance; The body is the core part of the article, a total of eleven chapters, respectively in each chapter of western modern polyphonic techniques in various writing techniques, analyzed and summarized, in three parts to discuss, namely, the basic concept of the polyphonic technique, basic theory research and practice; Conclusion is a summary of all kinds of western modern polyphonic techniques and their thinking, and cause new problems.The author based on the above studies of western modern polyphonic technique, makes the concept of each technique and their creation has a higher and deeper understanding, hope for the future in this paper Composition and technology of composition theory in the further research and provide some useful reference value and significance.
