Chinese culture went though several thousand years. Compare with the West, the Chinese people had comprehended the dialectical relation of beauty and ugliness earlier and had gained the distinctive view about beauty and ugliness. By studying the"ugliness"idea of representative of Pre-Qin Taoism school:Lao Tse and Zhuang Tse we can analyze and summarize the"ugliness"idea on culture source,aesthetics connotation in what are the thought coming from and the premise and base. From these points we gain the proposition systematically and rationally in that we should supply the real"ugliness"idea to Pre-Qin Taoism school .The"ugliness"is the anti-mature state that the object,the people and the society disobey the"Taoism". In s word, they disobey the nature and violate the"Taoism", and the result is"Ugliness". The"ugliness"idea of Pre-Qin Taoism embodies national characteristic of Chinese scholar in aesthetic sense. So the most important is the enlightenment and influence on aesthetics thought and literature and art to the later ages.
