Viewed 20th centuries the basic alignment of the French philosophy, people can easy detected the question of"other"is such as a red line, which piercing through the whole discussion area of philosophy with French contemporary. Sartre, Merleau-ponty, Levinas, Althusser, Lacan, Derrida, Deleuze, all of the philosophers fall over themselves for the question of"other". Among them, Sartre demonstrate the others in ontology, see others in the realistic world, discuss the existence of"others"in the continuous argument ,put forward the question of"others"to go to close the important problem in the whole western thought.Sartre proved others on ontology in his earlier period, discussed the relationship between one and anther, it is an important aspect of his thoughts. But, at that moment, his"other"theory did not involve the society and history, landing himself in a predicament of the relationship between individual and group. From the view of"other", the thesis makes a systematic study on the transformation of the later"other"theory, and reveals the deeper reason that causes the transformation. The thesis attempts to show that Sartre proved the relation to others in the development of the society and history in his later period; it is a theoretical attempting to solve the contradictory relationship between one and anther.Through comparing Sartre's"other"theory in his earlier and later period, the thesis attempts to grasp Sartre's"other"theory wholly and systematically, and highlights the important significance of the"other"theory.
