How to explain the meaning of the text is a very complicated and significant issue. The goal of readers is acquring the meaning of the text. As regards the issue of meaning explication, three types of explication mode come forth: 1, the unitary explication mode: It includes three theoretical basic points to analyze the meaning of the text, consisting of the author's original intention, the words of the text, and the readers'perception. 2, multi-exchange explication mode: In their opinion, the meaning of literature is the result of three intersubjective exchanges and unification, including the notions that the meaning is endowed by the author, the text expresses the meaning itself, and the readers explicate the meaning. 3, deconstructed meaning explication mode: They overthrew the traditional thoughts, deconstructed invariableness and eliminated the meaning. They thought any ultimate meanings did not exist, and any efforts that are made to explicate the meaning is fruitless or false. The thesis focuses on the evolvement of the explication of the text in the western world , sorting and criticizing the issue of meaning explication modes systematically and integrally, explaining the inner logical clues of the meaning explication modes. On this basis, the thesis states the idea of the writer's own, and analyzes the tendency of this issue.
