Illustrate The Confusion

Hermeneutics is a theory that understanding and explain text. However, we will sink into the conflict of subjectivism and objectivity, which is a perplexity brings by elucidator’s nature subjectivity and explication’s veracity and objectivity, as long as the explication begins. Backdate to the development of hermeneutic, the perplexity born with explication’s birth and develops with its development.However, The meaning of the text is losing and logos centralism is being deconstructed due to the post-modernist. So, the meaning existing before elucidator is not hiding behind the text any more, but becoming "the flowers’in the mirror, the moon in the water" which we cannot touch. So,all the explication will become worthless.It can be seen that the perplexity of explication has became a prominent question demanding prompt solution, but only a few part of the researcher involved in this part a little bit,1et alone special research.Given this situation, this paper returns back to the origination of hermeneutic and combs the confusion in its development, and then do some research in the origination of explication’s confusion.In the first part—the analysis of explication’s phenomenon, divided into four parts: Chapter one, the explication perplexity during the integration of Greece and Hebrew. In order to keep and let other ethnic groups accept their monotheism, the Christian leader faced how to explain the confusion of monotheism thinking, at last, they solved this problem by using some plots. So, the confusion during this period focuses on how to explain to promote culture’s better integration; Chapter two, the explication perplexity during the Protestant Reformation. Because of the concept---"no other salvation except Christian church ", Vatican City sate owns gigantic power to control people’s idea. So, by proposing the concept of "justification by faith" and retranslating Bible, Martin Luther king broke Vatican City states’monopolize. So, the confusion Martin Luther facing are as follow:1, the problem between old and new sects----the conflict between "reforming sect" hermeneutic and "piety sect" hermeneutic.2, language problem---the conflicts between Latin and Greek in the old and new testament.3, explication method problem—the conflict between "moral explication" and "semantic explication". Chapter three, the explication perplexity in modern times. As hermeneutic became a theory owing common meaning in this period, so the explication must be objective. So, how to integrate the moral and character exegetics and how to integrate subjective belief and objective explication perfectly became the explication perplexity in this period. Chapter four, the explication perplexity in post-modern times. Due to the impact of post-modern trend, the meaning became uncertain and open and explication method became colorful. So, how to chose the explication method and which one could be understand precisely became the prominent problem during this period.Then, in the2nd part---the origination of explication perplexity divided into three parts:chapter one, comprehension’s difference lead to explication perplexity,"explication" and "understanding" are two different concepts and the past elucidator has defined their relationship, the result is they are not peep to peer. What’s more, everyone in the history has their own "pre-understanding", which determines understanding and lead to the difference of understanding and the explication perplexity. Chapter two, explication method lead to explication perplexity. As people locate in different angle and adopt different method, which lead to lots of explication methods inclined to one angle or method, so, insufficient explication caused. Meanwhile, because of the diversity of explication method, people face a perplexity:which method is what I want to chose? Another perplexity emerged after explication:is my explication perfect? So, the explication method leads to the explication perplexity inevitably. Chapter three, text meaning leads to explication perplexity. Meaning’s certainty lost and the target of explication collapsed.Then, the meaning can be defined by people’s own understanding and explication. People became unrooted "floating duckweed", which lead to explication perplexity inevitably.After these inspections, we found out that explication is an adventure.English poet, critics Coleridge said:" philosophy begins in puzzlement and ends in puzzlement." This paper is not aims to eliminate these puzzlements but to make these puzzlements more lucid, to let us facing this puzzlement much more bravely and has a clear acknowledgment of the root of the puzzlement.
