Throughout the development of human being thoughts, visual arts as a most instinct and old spiritual occuring method, have different significations in different periods. The phenomena imply some unresearched and explorable mysterious fields between human being spirits and visual expressions. "Narration" generally means "tell something". The amphibology of the word hints its large scope of meanings. It just could be a cutting-in point to reveal the compliexity of visual arts.The thesis tries to re-understand and re-explain the similarities and differences of the meanings of several images in visual art history, which are constructed, communicated and explained, by analyzing the structures of images instead of styles. The thesis discusses on the meanings between mentality and material, signifier and signified, sign and reality. It tries consequently to clarify the rules implied in the visual games of images and the possibilities upon the rules.
