The rapid development of information technology has brought about an all-around reform in education; meanwhile, the development of society calls for the accordance of vocational education. "Essential Philosophy", a peculiar required course for vocational school students, aims to educate the students with essential Marxist philosophy and his philosophy concepts. For one thing, it has the characteristic of moral education; for another, it has the characteristic of vocational education. It not only helps the student set up a right outlook on the world, life and value, but also has great significance in building up the student ability by cultivating their knowledge, ability, consciousness and so on.In order to meet the needs of national economy and social progress for qualified personnel as well as information technology, I'd like to make a research into situational teaching theory in 'essential philosophy' in vocational school by means of creating situations suitable for students' real life; based on the reality of vocational school students; combining with the characteristics of essential philosophy, so as to improve the effects in learning and teaching philosophy in vocational school.The design of this teaching experiment is based on comparison. The compared class uses traditional teaching pattern, while the teaching in experimental class take place through multimedia courseware—the teacher creating question situations through multimedia courseware; the students listen, analyze, discuss and drills while perceiving the created situation. Check and compare the students' interests, creating ability and quality in experimented class by face-to-face talk and asking questions. Through research, we've got the following conclusion: In teaching essential philosophy in vocational school, applying the created situation by means of multimedia courseware can effectively stimulate the students' learning interests, strengthen the students' ability to perceive and to distinguish and increase their ability to practice and solve problems.In one word, teaching by creating situations, which has been proved to be a suitable and reasonable teaching method in teaching essential philosophy in vocational school, has stimulated the students' interests in learning, encouraged the students to study actively and question bravely, as a result, the effects and quality in classroom teaching has been greatly improved.
