As a compulsory public foundation course for secondary vocational schools,English's main task is to enable students to master certain basic English knowledge and basic skills,and to develop students' English application skills in daily life and professional situations.Particular emphasis is placed on the development of students' English listening and speaking skills.In order to better vocational development of secondary vocational students in the future,and aiming at the problem of weak communication ability in English,this paper studies the application of English situational teaching methods in English teaching of secondary vocational schools.This research focuses on students,to a certain extent,"student-centered",combined with the characteristics of physical and mental development of secondary vocational students,using tests and classroom observations to explore the problems of the application of situational teaching methods in English-language audio-visual teaching in secondary vocational schools.And put forward a reasonable solution.The author selected 45 students from a secondary vocational school as the observation object of the application of situational teaching method.The use of the situational teaching method for this class focuses on the stimulation of the students' interest in listening and speaking in English,and records the classroom performance of the students during the teaching process.Analyze the observed observations.This study focuses on three issues:(1)How does the Situational Teaching Method affect secondary vocational students' English learning,listening and speaking in the application process?(2)What difficulties or problems have been encountered in the process of applying the situational teaching method?(3)Based on the above problems,what can be done to solve those problems? After 20 weeks of teaching and observation,the research in this paper has the following findings:(1)The application of the situational teaching method has an obvious effect on the improvement of students' audio-visual ability,indicating that the improvement of teaching methods has achieved the same effect.Moreover,there are significant differences in the acceptance of situational teaching methods by different genders.Compared with girls,boys benefit more from situational teaching methods.At the same time,the increase in low-grouping in the situational teaching mode is significantly greater than that in the high-level grouping,which may be due to the relatively large room for improvement of the low-packet itself.(2)There are still many obstacles in the application process of the application teaching method.Through observation,it is found that on the one hand,from the influence of the quality of teachers,there are many conservative teachers who are not rigid in teaching and are unwilling to improve the teaching effect.The scenario teaching method they rejected made this method not very smooth in the promotion process;on the other hand,the imperfection of the teaching infrastructure also affected the extent to which the situational teaching method improved the teaching effect in the process of promotion.In response to the existing problems of the situational approach,we propose feasible improvements:(1)In daily teaching,teachers should pay attention to the use of situational teaching methods in order to achieve good teaching results.Schools can establish a teacher assessment system to encourage teachers to innovate and focus on teaching effectiveness.(2)Encourage national or social forces to invest in basic teaching facilities.Projectors,audio and other tools are essential tools for the implementation of situational teaching methods,and schools should gradually improve the infrastructure.
