Traditional Elements Of Modern Interior Design Applications

As development of technology and socio-economic, modern interior design is confronted with new challenges, it has to meet the people's substance needs, but also spiritual and cultural needs. In the trend of Cultural Localization, interior design as a part of culture is bound to return to tradition. So combining traditional elements with modern interior design that reflects national culture has practical significance. Therefore this paper is discussing the topic about how to combine the forms and connotations of Chinese traditional art with modern interior design.Chinese traditional elements that develop in long historical flow has rich form, unique sculpt law and the deep intension of traditional culture. Through analyzing the function , the modeling and the connotation of traditional architectural structure, traditional furniture and traditional decoration to summarize sculpt law and deep intension of traditional souls.The traditional culture and aesthetic taste impacted the traditional elements, traditional elements have some inevitable limitations, people pay more attention to the combination of practicality and culture, with the development of the times. The combination of traditional and modern fashion in the form produced a certain degree of conflict. Practical application can not simply imitate traditional forms, but extracted traditional elements out, simply, reform, and reconstruct them, in order to make them more modern, more refined, and easier produced. With the eyes of the modernist, abstract and summarize them into a concise design language in order to make a dialogue between tradition and modern. The target is to make the past sculpt law and deep souls serve the present, to make them innovative, in order to summarize and design modern interior space with Chinese charm through exploring continuously.
