Though on-the-spot investigation, combined with the relevant historical data, this paper puts forward a new idea about the related academic issues of the Zhong Huang Shan Buddhist sutra carvings, especially making first further comprehensive study on its calligraphic art value and historical significance. Through synthetic evaluation of several views on the providers of the Buddhist sutra carvings and the engraving time etc., the article argues that The provider is TangYong is incredible. While studying the art style and origins of Chinese regular script of the local Buddhist sutra carvings, by use of the methods of images comparison, it compares the related ink marks with the grindstone carvings, which reveals that the writing trend and brushwork of the local Buddhist sutra carvings square with the popular style of the Buddhism scriptures writing ones at that time, which is a production of integration of the style of Buddhism scriptures writing that developed in the late sixth century with the two Wangs'calligraphy style.Through field investigation and verification, this paper presents the factors that impact the the stone inscription calligraphy art, in addition to copiers and carvers, stone quality is also an important unignorable one.
