Wild Behind The Order

Since continuously, Vincent Van Gogh has been regarded as a talented lunatic, which speaks for the boldness and outrage of his paintings. This article will try to analyse the connection between his paint style and his mental state by an objective way based on the relevant psychosis research. It will clarify following idea: Van Gogh did not work in a reckless and unreasoning way; his style was not completely caused by his mental disorder. But quite the opposite side, Van Gogh worked in a reasoning way with good purpose and plan; his creative process was an intelligent activity with good reasoning, which was even good for his disease unconsciously. It seems that the contradictory between Van Gogh's psychosis and rationality made him reach the greater height of art. The author of this article want to correct the misunderstanding about the connection between his style and disease, wishing it will be good to the objective and reasoning analysis of Van Gogh's work.
