Lan Buddhist Concept Study

Buddhism is not on attachment to philosophy; Feng youlan is not specializes in Buddhism, either. However,as a great scholar on History of Chinese philosophy, Feng youlan has formed a striking originality in his writing"Three Histories",which not only gives full expression to Chinese philosophy but also embodies his viewpoint on Buddhism. As a philosopher, Feng youlan has cheered on Chinese nation by writing"Six Books", in which he expounds his viewpoint on Buddhism when elucidating theories on realm of life. As a Modern neo-Confucian, Feng youlan has opened a new page in Neo-Confucianism by inheriting previous Confucianism thought and representing his viewpoint on Buddhism. So, Buddhism, as an important part of Feng youlan's philosophy deserves study.So, in this paper, I try to study Feng youlan's viewpoint on Buddhism. By beginning with Understanding Feng youlan and basing on the history of Chinese philosophy and it's methodology, from the unique perspective of Feng youlan's, I have analyzed the coordination between Buddhism and Chinese people, experienced Feng youlan's historical method , philosophical meaning and Buddhist viewpoint. And the ultimate result of his thoughts of Buddhism is to carry forward the esteem and reference of Zen.
